It has limited brass ranges, but roars through great ensemble passages and exciting contrapuntal lines which have become Holman's 'trademark'.

Holman's writing is legendary, and this chart will just add to the legend. All of the great characteristics of Bill's music are here, unison lines, counterpoint, simplicity, a great theme, and a series of swinging, roaring ensembles [without high trumpet parts]. Certainly this is a great concert piece, but it is also a practical piece, great for warming up a band, no demanding ranges, but lots of 'listening' challenges.
